Montenegro’s newly appointed ambassador to Kosovo, Bernard Čobaj, officially assumed his post on Tuesday after presenting his credentials to Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, Montenegro’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

In a statement, the ministry said Čobaj and Osmani praised the friendly and neighbourly relations between the two countries, grounded in shared Euro-Atlantic values.

Osmani congratulated Čobaj on his appointment and underscored the importance of preserving and advancing good neighbourly relations based on mutual respect. She also reaffirmed Kosovo’s readiness to strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

Čobaj said he would work during his mandate to deepen bilateral ties, enhance political dialogue, and expand overall cooperation between Montenegro and Kosovo.

“Both sides agreed that there is strong potential to boost inter-state relations and expressed readiness to promote existing and launch new joint initiatives,” the statement added.
