The average monthly net salary index in North Macedonia rose 9.5% in November 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to the State Statistical Office.

The increase was primarily driven by significant gains in average net salaries in the following sectors:

  • Arts, entertainment, and recreation (+15.3%)
  • Transportation and storage (+12.7%)
  • Manufacturing (+11.2%)

Meanwhile, declines in average net salaries compared to the previous month were recorded in these sectors:

  • Mining and quarrying (-8.0%)
  • Real estate activities (-5.9%)
  • Agriculture, forestry, and fishing (-2.6%)

The average monthly net wage per employee in North Macedonia in November 2024 was 41,999 denars (€680), according to the State Statistical Office.

Among Western Balkan countries, Montenegro leads in average monthly net wages, followed by Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia:

  • Montenegro: €828
  • Serbia: €764.63
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina: €723.49
  • North Macedonia: €680.38
