The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (KCC) has expressed support for President Vjosa Osmani’s call on the government to lift customs tariffs on goods imported from the United States, describing the move as a step toward strengthening economic ties with Kosovo’s key strategic ally.
In a statement on Thursday, the Chamber said the call reinforces its own appeal for the suspension of tariffs on U.S. goods and highlights the importance of deepening economic cooperation with Washington.
“The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce believes that removing customs tariffs on American products would open new opportunities for Kosovo’s economic development and contribute to increased trade and investment potential. Such a step would further strengthen relations with the United States and mark significant progress toward freer trade,” the statement read.
The Chamber emphasized that actions which reinforce international partnerships — particularly those based on shared interests and economic values — are vital for Kosovo’s future.
“In this context, the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce urges the Government of Kosovo to act swiftly and make the necessary decisions to lift customs tariffs and advance the economic partnership with the United States of America,” it added.
