The residence of Albanian ambassador to Ukraine Ernal Filo was damaged during overnight Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, Albanian authorities said on Sunday.

Videos obtained by Albanian broadcaster Top Channel showed Ambassador Ernal Filo documenting shattered windows and destruction around the residential complex where he lives.

“This is the consequence of the missile attack. Here is my residential building. Glass fragments are everywhere,” Filo said in the footage.

Albanian authorities said the ambassador was not injured.

The Albanian government condemned the attack, describing strikes on civilian areas and risks to diplomatic personnel as serious violations of international norms and another example of the human cost of the war.

Russia launched a new wave of ballistic missile and drone attacks against Ukraine overnight, targeting Kyiv and other regions.

According to Reuters, at least four people were killed in Kyiv and the surrounding region, while dozens more were injured.

Powerful explosions were heard across the Ukrainian capital shortly after 1:00 a.m. local time after Ukraine’s air force warned that Russia could launch an Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile.

Kyiv Mayor said two people were killed and 56 injured in the city, with 30 hospitalized. Damage was also reported around Independence Square.

“It was a terrible night for Kyiv,” Klitschko said in a Telegram message from one of the strike locations.

Residents spent hours sheltering inside metro stations as explosions shook the city.

The head of Kyiv’s military administration said more than 40 locations across the capital suffered damage.

Two additional people were killed and nine injured in the wider Kyiv region, according to regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk.

At daybreak, black smoke rose above parts of the city as firefighters battled blazes in damaged buildings and rescue workers evacuated the wounded.

Images from the scene showed the facade of a five-story residential building collapsed after the strike.

Ukrainian President had warned a day earlier that Russia was preparing a new strike involving the Oreshnik missile system, citing intelligence information from Ukraine, the United States and Europe.

Russian President has previously claimed the Oreshnik missile cannot be intercepted because of its extreme speed, reportedly exceeding ten times the speed of sound.

Zelensky’s warning came after Putin ordered Russian forces to prepare retaliation options following a Ukrainian drone strike on a student dormitory in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, allegations denied by Kyiv.
