SKOPJE, May 20 (BV) — The European Union has disbursed €65.7 million to North Macedonia as part of the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, citing progress in implementing agreed reforms.
EU Ambassador to North Macedonia welcomed the latest payment and praised local institutions for advancing reform commitments tied to the bloc’s financial support package.
“Strong performance by North Macedonia within the EU Growth Plan framework,” Rokas said.
“Today’s disbursement of €65.7 million reflects reform progress, bringing real benefits and opportunities for all citizens.”
He congratulated state institutions and partners involved in achieving the results.
According to the European Union, the funds are expected to support reforms, strengthen economic development and accelerate North Macedonia’s European integration process.
The Growth Plan for the Western Balkans is one of Brussels’ flagship regional initiatives aimed at boosting economic convergence and encouraging governance reforms among aspiring EU members.
North Macedonia remains an EU candidate country, though accession negotiations have faced repeated political and bilateral obstacles in recent years.
