Ideas, a philosopher said, do not fall from heaven.

On Sunday, as my dentist was plucking my teeth, he began a conversation, a monologue; the only thing that was left to me was to listen. His idea was, in order to bring justice to its place, when it comes to thieves, big fish, of our time, the state should do no more or less than – to investigate with how much wealth they have entered into politics and then buy them a high-class Mercedes and – confiscate all their wealth! The car should be in return for the savings they made to the state treasury! My dentist’s monologue goes even further: It is not worth throwing them in jail and leave them with all that wealth!

1. Are we becoming like the English people? They have the ‘shadow government’, an attentive instigator of the Government’s mistakes that, on behalf of the opposition party, is not worthy to offer alternatives. I know the answer, I can guess it, but these days in the case of Kosovo, the hints seem to be hopeful: For the upcoming early elections, there will be more lists and more candidates for Prime Minister! Albanians on the one hand and minorities on the other. The latter, as so far, may have the role of determinant. However, the long list of candidates for Prime Minister has a good thing: Vjosa Osmani, the first woman to lead the Kosovo government, with competences that do not put her in the position of ‘English queen’!

Problems and challenges are awaiting the new Prime Minister that are hard to identify: in the area of the ruling of law, that is missing, in corruption, they say, and a battle that is blossoming, to overcome the Rubicon under the name of ‘dialogue’ with Serbia. Perhaps, restoring confidence in institutions, as anywhere in these spaces, whoever does it, it would deserve a big applaud!

2. These hot August days, which have made this summer the hottest in the world over the last 140 years, in Belgrade some Milan Stamatovic, leader of the ‘Zdrava Srbija’ party, as if  ‘Healthy Serbia’ has thrown the idea that the only way for Serbia to ‘preserve Kosovo’s territory’ is to give it to Russia, for a while, with the help of an interstate Belgrade-Moscow agreement! He argues that this would automatically make Kosovo’s Serbs Russian citizen and prevent what the Serbs call ‘Great Albania’!

These days, I am reading a study by a Serbian author about the roots of nationalism in Tito’s Yugoslavia, published in Belgrade in 1976. Believe it or not: nowhere is talked about Albanian nationalism, but entirely about the Serb, in the function of the ‘Great Serbia’ and the Croatian – the ‘Great Croatia’. The author also refers to the statistical indicators, which show that Albanians, as well as Bosnians, Macedonians and Montenegrins have been on the tail of social and economic development!

“The tongue goes where the tooth hurts!”

Broken teeth must be thrown away! – my dentist answers me with a smile.

Indeed, if you look closer, our transition democracy continues to be stuck by fleas and ticks that do not care!

Moreover, this is all because we do things in a rush and hurry and with revenge: He breaks the windshield of our car, we ruin his house! It does not go beyond the ‘illegally raised’ reasoning. How we should know, not to break the chaos and continue the old tune!
