Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic rejected accusations from opposition politician Marinika Tepic that he was linked to drug trafficker Filip Korac. He said the claim was baseless and accused Tepic of spreading false information.

He referred to the 2017 arrest of 10 members of the Skajlar criminal clan at a Belgrade restaurant, saying they were allegedly involved in an attack on his then 19-year-old son, Danilo.

Vucic also displayed a photo of a drug package that Tepic had referenced, pointing out that the image on the package was that of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, not himself.

“I don’t believe she intended to accuse the Colombian president — a respectable man — of drug dealing. It was a slip of the tongue,” Vucic said. “I don’t think she wants to cause diplomatic tensions with a country we’re asking to withdraw recognition of Kosovo.”

He claimed that the opposition in Serbia relies on constant misinformation. “In Serbia, it doesn’t matter how many times you lie in a day. You just keep lying and there’s no problem,” he said. “Tomorrow this won’t even be a topic anymore — there will be a new lie.”

Vucic concluded by stating, “I’ve never seen drugs in my life. I despise drug dealers.”

He also noted that Sky ECC encrypted communication networks were shut down in March 2021, while the allegations being made stem from 2022, calling them chronologically and factually baseless.
