Türkiye on Thursday reiterated its call for support for the ongoing normalization process with Armenia and rejected claims regarding the events of 1915, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“We categorically reject the statements on the events of 1915, made in violation of historical facts and international law,” the ministry said.
The ministry described the remarks as politically motivated attempts to exploit historical suffering, calling them “null and void.” It said Türkiye supports peace, dialogue, mutual understanding, and regional prosperity.
The statement added that Türkiye has opened its archives and proposed the creation of a Joint Historical Commission to examine the 1915 events in an objective and scholarly manner.
It also warned against actions that encourage “radical circles to draw animosity from history.”
