Albanian police have announced temporary road closures and traffic restrictions ahead of Kanye West’s concert in Kashar on July 11, warning motorists to expect major disruptions throughout the day.
According to the Tirana Police Directorate, several sections of the capital’s western road network will be closed between 7:00 a.m. and midnight to facilitate the event and manage the expected influx of spectators.
Traffic will be suspended on the secondary lane of the Durrës–Tirana motorway between the Eiffel area and Casa Italia, with the route operating only in the outbound direction for authorized vehicles. The exit lane at the Casa Italia roundabout will also be closed during the same period.
From noon until midnight, additional restrictions will apply on the Casa Italia–Pavarësia Road–Sokrat Miho Road corridor, as well as the Sokrat Miho–Kasem Shima–7 Nëntori route, which will operate only in the outbound direction.
Police said partial traffic disruptions could also occur between the Institute Bridge and Casa Italia depending on the number of people attending the concert.
Only emergency services and police vehicles will be allowed access to the restricted areas during the closures.
Authorities urged residents and drivers to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes and follow police instructions to minimize congestion and ensure the safe conduct of the event.
