Several flights at Skopje International Airport were delayed due to heavy fog blanketing the Skopje Valley over the past 24 hours, the airport’s website reported.
Flights arriving from Istanbul, Dortmund, and Eindhoven were among those affected, according to the latest updates. Departures to Friedrichshafen and Istanbul were also postponed.
The disruptions included a canceled flight from Istanbul last night and a Zurich flight that had to be rerouted.
Yesterday afternoon, flights scheduled to arrive after 4 p.m. faced challenges. A “SunExpress” flight from Antalya and two “Wizz Air” flights from Memmingen and Baden-Baden failed to land as planned.
Similarly, a “LOT” flight from Warsaw was unable to land at Skopje Airport and was forced to return to Poland.
Passengers are advised to monitor official updates from Skopje Airport and remain in contact with their respective airlines for the latest flight information.
