Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretary General Amer Kapetanović on Friday participated in the Dubrovnik Forum 2025, titled “Channelling the Change,” hosted by Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
In his address, Kapetanović said regional cooperation has never been optional, describing it as a “dress rehearsal” for reaching common goals and destinations.
“Regional cooperation is where we learn to compromise, build consensus, and share responsibilities,” he said. “The Common Regional Market is our test, our opportunity, and our bridge to the European Union.”
Kapetanović joined a high-level panel discussion, “Western Balkans and the Euro-Atlantic Path: Trust, Transparency, Transformation,” which examined the region’s integration path and the role of trust, accountability, and cooperation in fostering long-term stability. The debate highlighted the need for inclusive dialogue, regional ownership, and stronger political and economic cooperation to build sustainable foundations for Euro-Atlantic integration.
On the sidelines of the forum, Kapetanović held bilateral meetings with Czech Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvořák and Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean Nasser Kamel. Talks focused on the EU accession process and the strategic importance of regional cooperation as a pillar of long-term peace, stability, and growth across Europe.
