The Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Zagreb will host an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the codification of the Macedonian language.
The event will feature presentations by scholars of the Macedonian language, along with a poetry reading titled “Macedonian Poetry Evening,” organizers said.
As part of a project by the Macedonian publishing house Vostok, contemporary Macedonian poets will read their works in Macedonian, with Croatian students of Macedonian translating the poems into Croatian.
Additionally, the center will host an exhibit titled “The Macedonian Literary Groundwater,” which will display archival materials related to the codification of the language and a selection of poetry books.
The event is organized by the Macedonian Embassy in Croatia and the Macedonian Language Lectorate at the Faculty of Philosophy, Rijeka’s Department of Croatian Studies.
