The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts will this week host the launch of a three-volume collection of works by renowned Macedonian poet Kocho Racin, while the Faculty of Philology will present the Macedonian translation of Time Regained, the final volume of Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time.
The Racin collection includes poetry, fiction, non-fiction, literary criticism, and biographical materials. Macedonian academicians Zhivko Popov and Katica Kjulavkova will speak on Racin’s literary and cultural legacy.
Editors of the volumes—Venko Andonovski (volume one), Iskra Tasevska Hadzhi-Boshkova (volume two), and Vesna Mojsova Chepishevska (volume three)—will present insights into the editorial process and significance of their respective editions.
Separately, the Faculty of Philology will mark Francophonie Days with the launch of Time Regained, translated into Macedonian by Gjorgje Marjanovikj. French literature scholars Irina Babamova and Elisaveta Popovska will discuss the significance of Proust’s work and the challenges of rendering his prose into Macedonian.
