Interpol has rejected a request from Bosnia’s state court to issue a red notice for Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik and RS National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, Dodik said on Wednesday.
“I just received a call from (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vučić, who informed me that Interpol’s Directorate has upheld Serbia’s appeal and rejected Bosnia’s request for a red notice against Stevandić and me,” Dodik wrote on social media platform X.
Dodik thanked Vučić, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and other leaders who supported the appeal.
Following a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Vučić said that while he and Lammy agreed on the importance of dialogue and compromise for regional stability, they held differing views on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
“I cannot agree that Milorad Dodik is solely responsible for the situation in BiH,” Vučić said at a press conference in Belgrade’s Villa Mir.
He called for international actors to seek compromise solutions rather than assigning blame, arguing that Dodik was not at fault for all disputes, particularly on property issues.
“It has become common practice since the 1990s to place blame on the Serbian side, but the reality is more complex,” Vučić said.
He reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to the Dayton Peace Agreement and Bosnia’s territorial integrity.
“We want no conflicts. Serbia is making strong economic progress, with one of the highest growth rates in Europe. Our priority is rapid economic development,” Vučić said.
