The heaviest downpours were recorded in the village of Lehchevo in Boychinovtsi municipality, with 69 litres per square metre, and in the municipality of Valchedram, with 56 litres per square metre. Two women were evacuated from Lehchevo, officials said.

The fire service reported receiving around 40 calls about flooded houses in the Montana and Vratsa regions. Emergency teams have been dispatched to affected areas, where rains are continuing. In Montana province, rainfall reached 80 litres per square metre.

Rainfall in the towns of Lom and Vidin was measured at 29 and 23 litres per square metre, respectively.

In the capital Sofia, rainfall was about three times lighter, with only one report of a flooded underpass. Fire crews were working to drain the area.
