Albania welcomed around 73,000 foreign tourists in February 2025, marking a 32.2% increase compared to the same month a year earlier, national statistics agency INSTAT said on Thursday.
In the first two months of the year, a total of 142,000 non-resident visitors entered the country, up 38% year-on-year, according to data from accommodation structures.
The majority of non-resident tourists in February came from Italy (22%), Kosovo (16%), and Germany (7%), followed by the United Kingdom (6%) and France (4%). Visitors from other countries accounted for 45% of the total.
The data reflects continued growth in inbound tourism from key regional and European markets. However, the hotel room occupancy rate in February stood at 16.5%, slightly down from 16.7% a year earlier.
Accommodation providers reported a notable year-on-year increase in both visitor numbers and overnight stays. Total visitors rose by 29.9%, with non-residents up 32.2% and resident visitors up 26.4%. Overnight stays increased by 34.2%, driven by a 35.4% rise among foreign tourists and a 32.0% increase among domestic travelers.
