Albanian State Police launched inspections on Thursday as part of the “Free Beach” operation, aimed at reclaiming public spaces for holidaymakers and monitoring commercial activities along the coast during the summer season.
Police units in Kavaja, working in coordination with municipal officers, carried out checks in the area, identifying several roadside spaces that had been illegally adapted for private use without permits from relevant authorities.
Occupants of these spaces vacated them voluntarily following police intervention, local media outlet reported.
Authorities said inspections will continue throughout the summer. The Durrës Local Police Directorate vowed to take action against any violations affecting public access or the safety of beachgoers.
