Nearly 79% of households include couples with children

 

Montenegro is home to 170,247 families, with most consisting of three to five members, according to newly released data from the 2023 national census conducted by the country’s Statistics Administration, Monstat.

The census results show that families made up of married or unmarried couples with children—regardless of the children’s age—account for 133,825 households, or 78.6% of the total.

By household size, families with three to five members are the most common, representing 60.7% of all families.

Families with two members make up 36.5%, while only 2.8% of families have six or more members, Monstat said in a statement.
