Donald Trump’s press secretary Caroline Leavitt denied claims that Suzy Wiles, the former U.S. president’s chief of staff, blocked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic from attending an event at Mar-a-Lago.
“The chief of staff did not ‘block’ President Vucic from attending any event at Mar-a-Lago. That is fake news,” Leavitt told Pavlovic Today.
Vucic was visiting Florida, where he was expected to meet Trump. He had earlier held talks with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and was scheduled to discuss trade tariffs announced by Trump with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The Serbian president cut short his trip and returned to Belgrade after falling ill, his office said.
