Five Albanian citizens evacuated from Israel arrived safely in Athens in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Albania’s foreign minister said, as countries continue to extract nationals amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran.
Foreign Minister Igli Hasani said the evacuation was closely monitored at every stage by Albania’s embassies.
“Three of them have already continued their journey and are now in Tirana; one is expected to return to Albania tonight; while the fifth is a resident of Greece and will remain there,” Hasani said in a statement.
Several countries have begun evacuating their citizens from Israel and Iran as the conflict between the two nations intensifies, involving mutual missile strikes and a rising civilian death toll.
