Prime Minister Miloš Vučević said Monday he expects the government to inform the public as early as tomorrow about new documents related to the Novi Sad train station, which have been published on its website.
Speaking in response to the Civil Engineering Faculty’s request for the release of all relevant documents, Vučević emphasized that the government has nothing to hide and is fully committed to ensuring transparency.
“We will need to ask our Chinese partners for permission to release documents in their possession, as they pertain to the Chinese contractor and their subcontractors. These are not documents held by the government. I am confident we will have their support,” Vučević told TV Pink.
He added that the government, ministries, and railway authorities would provide all requested materials.
According to Vučević, the prosecutor’s office had sufficient documentation to file charges swiftly regarding the collapse of the train station’s canopy, a complex case that, he argued, demonstrates that no evidence was hidden or destroyed.
Commenting on ongoing protests, Vučević stressed the importance of dialogue with students, echoing President Aleksandar Vučić’s recent call in Jagodina.
“We are here to listen to their concerns about unmet demands. The government believes we have addressed them, but if further clarification is needed, such as with the documentation from the Civil Engineering Faculty, we will comply. We are always ready to engage on any topic they find necessary, not as adversaries but as partners committed to the future of this country,” Vučević said.
