Marinika Tepić, vice president of Serbia’s opposition Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), on Thursday presented what she described as a “people’s indictment” against Andrej Vučić, brother of President Aleksandar Vučić, accusing him of leading a political-criminal network that she said has “undermined Serbia for over a decade.”

Tepić alleged that Vučić orchestrated overcharged public tenders, electoral fraud, and paramilitary operations, positioning him as the operational hub of systemic corruption in the country.

The allegations drew swift rebuttals from Serbian authorities. Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić dismissed Tepić’s claims as false and politically motivated, calling them “a coup within the SSP” and questioning when prosecutors would respond to what she termed fabrications.

Brnabić said the accusations against the Vučić family were being made by those “who are themselves synonymous with corruption and crime,” implicitly referring to opposition figure Dragan Đilas. She highlighted reports alleging that Đilas amassed €619 million over ten years in politics, framing Tepić’s attack as deflective.

The dispute reflects escalating tensions ahead of Serbia’s upcoming elections, with the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and opposition parties trading accusations over corruption, governance, and political accountability.
