A large number of parents in Kochani are seeking answers about the whereabouts of their children after an incident that left many injured, according to a TV Telma report. Most of the wounded have been admitted to hospitals in Kochani and Shtip, while some have been transferred to clinics in the capital, Skopje.

Relatives and friends are turning to social media, posting photos of their loved ones and appealing for information on their conditions and locations.

Meanwhile, urgent calls for medical supplies are spreading, with reports of shortages of physiological blankets, oxygen tanks, and water at the Kochani hospital. Outside the Shtip hospital, crowds of distressed citizens have gathered, overwhelmed with tears and disbelief.

North Macedonia Arrests Concert Organizers After Deadly Kochani Fire

Authorities in North Macedonia have detained the organizers of a concert at a Kochani nightclub, where a massive fire overnight is believed to have killed 50 people, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry said all individuals connected to the event’s organization were being taken into custody as investigators worked to determine the cause of the tragedy. Witnesses and responsible parties are currently being questioned.

“All relevant services, including a public prosecutor from the Kochani Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, are on-site. The number of victims and injured is still being determined. Actions are being taken, and an investigation is underway. The Public Prosecutor of North Macedonia, along with prosecutors from Skopje and the Organized Crime and Corruption Prosecution Office, are en route to Kochani. The Kochani prosecution office will have full access to the resources of other offices for urgent handling of the case,” the Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

At least 30 injured people have been transported to Kochani Hospital, while around 60 others were taken by ambulance to the hospital in Shtip.

Among those already at the scene are Interior Minister Pance Toshkovski, Crisis Management Center Director Stojanche Angelov, and Bureau for Public Security Director Aleksandar Janev. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski is also expected to arrive shortly.
