The earthquake’s epicenter was at a relatively shallow depth, which could have increased its feeling in the surrounding area.

A 3.7-magnitude earthquake was registered today at 11:22 a.m. in the Aegean Sea area, not far from the Turkish city of Izmir.

According to available data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located east of this city.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake’s hypocenter was at a depth of about 7.5 kilometers below the earth’s surface.

There is currently no information about any material damage or injuries.
