PRISTINA, Sept. 4 (Balkan View) – Kosovo Albanian actress Lyra Xhoci, who has been building her career in Canada for several years, has reached a new international milestone with a role in the drama series “Ripple,” available on Netflix.
Xhoci plays Angela, a nurse, and appears in six of the series’ eight episodes. Her character has a significant role in the emotional development of the story.
The Netflix appearance marks another step in Xhoci’s transition from a well-known performer in Kosovo and Albanian-language productions to an actress working on the international screen.
Xhoci is already familiar to Albanian audiences from the popular television series “Kafeneja Jonë” (Our Café) and “Zyrja për Gjithçka” (The Office for Everything).
She also appeared in “Three Windows and a Hanging” (Tri Dritare dhe një Varje), one of Kosovo’s internationally recognised films.
After moving to Canada, Xhoci continued pursuing her acting career abroad. Her role in “Ripple” now gives her greater exposure to an international streaming audience.
Her appearance also adds to the growing presence of actors and filmmakers from Kosovo in international film and television productions.
For Xhoci, the role represents both a personal career milestone and another example of a Kosovo-born artist making the move from the local screen to international productions.
