Judge Daniela Dimovska has been appointed Acting President of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, North Macedonia’s Judicial Council announced on Wednesday. She replaces outgoing court president Ivan Dzolev, who was appointed as a judge at the higher Court of Appeals.
Dimovska, who has served in the department for organized crime prosecution within the same court, will assume the position on July 6 and remain in office until the completion of the procedure for selecting a permanent court president.
She was first appointed as a judge at the Skopje Criminal Court in September 2016, initially working in the preliminary investigation phase.
The Judicial Council also appointed acting presidents for three other basic courts across the country. Eljesa Aliji will lead the court in Gostivar, Mersim Marku in Debar, and Valentina Burevska in Sveti Nikole. All appointments will take effect on July 6.
