Newly surfaced documents suggest convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein had ties to Croatian associates and explored purchasing a fast military-grade boat developed in Croatia, raising further questions about his international dealings, regional media reported Sunday.
The documents indicate that in 2014, Epstein negotiated the acquisition of the OLIMP M-46, nicknamed the “sea lightning,” a high-speed vessel developed in Croatia and linked to military suppliers, through intermediaries, according to reports from Radio Sarajevo and SD.rs.
Epstein’s contacts reportedly included Croatian business figures involved in luxury real estate in Zadar and Zagreb. Some correspondence shows Croatian women being presented to Epstein through a network of intermediaries, echoing patterns seen in prior investigations into Epstein’s trafficking and abuse networks.
One associate, Boris Nikolić, reportedly emailed Epstein with links to modeling agencies in Zagreb, writing, “Let me know if you see anyone with potential,” underscoring the transactional manner in which women were presented. Additional messages referenced a French modeling agent, Jean-Luc Brunel, previously implicated in sexual abuse investigations.
Authorities and journalists in the region are reviewing the newly released records, which provide insight into Epstein’s operations in Southeast Europe and his broader international connections.
Epstein died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
