A young girl of German nationality died after falling from a water slide at a water park on the Croatian island of Rab, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at the Aquagan water park in Lopar. Emergency services, including firefighters and a medical helicopter, responded to the scene. The child was airlifted to the Clinical Hospital Centre in Rijeka but died despite medical efforts to save her.
Local media, citing unofficial sources, reported that the victim was a girl around three years old who allegedly fell from her father’s arms while descending the slide.
Police said they are working with relevant authorities to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
Witnesses told media that tourists from the Czech Republic were the first to assist. The area was secured by firefighters to allow the helicopter to land.
