Organizers of Metallica’s upcoming sold-out concert in Athens have released a detailed list of prohibited items, warning fans that restricted objects will be confiscated at the entrance.
The concert, scheduled for May 9 at the Olympic Stadium, marks the band’s return to Greece after 16 years and their fifth appearance in the country.
Promoters said items not allowed inside the venue include bags larger than A4 size, weapons, sharp objects, pepper spray, flammable materials, professional cameras with detachable lenses, standalone recording equipment, drones, animals, large umbrellas and portable seating such as chairs or stools.
Other banned items include studded jewelry, long wallet chains, handcuffs, banners, flags, sticks or poles, inflatable objects, laser pointers, fireworks, airhorns, alcohol and drugs.
The Athens show is part of the band’s “M72 World Tour,” supporting their 2023 album 72 Seasons. Tickets sold out within two hours of going on sale last year, according to the ticketing platform.
Ticket prices ranged from €86 to €178, while access to the premium “Snake Pit” area — located at the center of the stage — reached €550.
The concert lineup will also feature Gojira and Knocked Loose as special guests. Doors are set to open at 4 p.m., with opening acts beginning at 6 p.m. and Metallica expected on stage around 8:30 p.m.
