Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said on Monday that Bulgaria and Croatia play a vital role in ensuring security and stability in Southeast Europe, as he met with Croatian President Zoran Milanović in Zagreb during an official two-day visit.
The two heads of state held a one-on-one meeting followed by plenary talks between their respective delegations. In a joint media statement, Radev emphasized the strategic importance of both countries as NATO and European Union members located at opposite ends of the Western Balkans.
“Bulgaria and Croatia are key pillars of stability in Southeast Europe,” Radev said. “We share a common responsibility to support the security, prosperity, and European future of the region, particularly through the EU enlargement process.”
The talks also focused on regional cooperation, defense, energy connectivity, and the European integration of Western Balkan countries.
