Bosnia and Herzegovina has identified and issued deportation orders to eight migrants considered a security concern, the country’s immigration authority said on Friday.

The migrants, who were staying illegally in the country, were identified at the Temporary Reception Centre in Blažuj. They are nationals of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Egypt, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs said in a statement.

“Based on the established facts and risk assessments, the individuals were ordered to leave the country and were subsequently placed under supervision at the Immigration Centre in East Sarajevo,” the statement said.

The migrants were detected during intensified operational activities aimed at maintaining security and public order in temporary reception centres across Bosnia.

The immigration service urged citizens to report illegal and unregistered facilities being used to house migrants unlawfully. Reports can be submitted to field offices of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs throughout the country.
