Kosovo’s outgoing government on Friday unveiled a €1 million clean energy grant scheme backed by Luxembourg, aimed at helping businesses improve energy efficiency and strengthen competitiveness.
Under the program, companies can apply for grants of up to €20,000 for a single energy-saving measure, or up to €25,000 if two measures are combined.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said earlier investments in the private sector had spurred economic growth. He cited €100 million in subsidised loans to 379 companies and €12 million to 440 businesses, which he said enabled investment in automation, robotics and new equipment.
Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli said the scheme came at a critical time for Kosovo’s energy sector and would help companies reduce costs and reliance on imports.
Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Minister Rozeta Hajdari said the scheme would be implemented by the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency, an arm of her ministry.
Luxembourg’s ambassador to Pristina, Eric Dietz, welcomed the partnership and said the initiative would benefit both the economy and the environment.
