The European Union on Friday welcomed the ratification by Kosovo’s parliament of international agreements linked to the EU’s Growth Plan, paving the way for the country to access 882 million euros in grants and concessional loans.
In a statement, the EU Office in Kosovo said the move enables the disbursement of funds aimed at supporting reforms and advancing Kosovo’s path toward European integration.
“The EU in Kosovo welcomes today’s ratification by the Assembly of Kosovo of the agreements related to the EU Growth Plan,” the statement said. “This opens the way for Kosovo to benefit from 882 million euros in grants and loans on favourable terms, intended for the implementation of reforms that advance Kosovo on its path towards European integration.”
The funding forms part of the EU’s broader Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, designed to accelerate economic convergence with the bloc and support structural reforms in the region.
Kosovo has said the financial package will be directed toward priority reforms and development projects aligned with EU standards.
