Former Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga is mentioned in an email contained in the trove of documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to files reviewed by media outlets.
The reference appears in an email sent to Epstein by a person identified only as “Daniel”, whose role or affiliation is not specified in the documents. In the message, the sender wrote that the Princess of Thailand would be in New York at the United Nations together with the President of Kosovo, and that the Kosovo president wished to meet Epstein if he was available that week.
“The Princess of Thailand will be in New York, United Nations, together with the President of Kosovo. She would like to meet you if you have time this week,” the email said, signed “Daniel”.
Jahjaga served as Kosovo’s president from 2011 to 2016, including in 2012, the period referenced in the email. It remains unclear whether any meeting between Jahjaga and Epstein ever took place, and the documents provide no indication that such a meeting occurred.
There is no suggestion of wrongdoing by Jahjaga in the email or elsewhere in the released materials. A mention in Epstein-related documents does not imply illegal activity or personal association with Epstein, and many names in the files appear in passing references, correspondence or third-party communications.
The documents are part of a broader release of court records and materials linked to Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The release has drawn renewed scrutiny worldwide as journalists examine references to public figures, diplomats and businesspeople.
