Wizz Air will increase flights across former Yugoslav markets by 25% this winter and expand capacity by more than 50%, the low-cost carrier said on Monday.

Between October 26 and March 28, the airline plans to operate 6,393 flights, up 25.1% on the previous winter, offering 1.51 million seats, a rise of 53% or an additional 524,481 seats. Most services will be operated with Airbus A321 aircraft.

North Macedonia will remain Wizz Air’s largest market in the region, followed by Serbia, with capacity and frequencies rising across all ex-Yugoslav markets.

In North Macedonia, capacity will rise 65% to 622,886 seats. The airline will launch six new routes over the winter and base a sixth aircraft in Skopje next summer. “This expansion demonstrates our long-term commitment to the country … North Macedonia is one of our most important markets in the West Balkans,” CEO Jozsef Varadi said.

In Serbia, capacity will increase 61.9% to 521,399 seats, its biggest winter schedule there, with new services from Belgrade to Madrid and Niš to Dortmund.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Wizz Air will reopen its Tuzla base on Dec. 12, stationing an A321neo and adding a second aircraft in summer 2026. “The reopening of this base … signifies an important milestone in our ongoing growth across Bosnia and Herzegovina, making Wizz Air the biggest airline in Bosnia,” said Roland Tischner, Managing Director of Wizz Air Hungary. The carrier will offer 165,401 seats there, up 45.2%.

In Kosovo, Wizz Air will sell 131,148 seats this winter, an increase of 9.9%. In Montenegro, capacity will grow 16.4% to 52,580 seats. The government said this week it was in talks with Wizz Air on expanding services, including a possible two-aircraft base at Podgorica Airport from early 2026.
