Bulgaria will allocate EUR 1.28 billion under a new programme aimed at improving the energy efficiency of multi-family residential buildings, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov told Parliament on Friday.
The funding, which will be disbursed through 2029, is part of a revised version of the existing National Programme for Energy Efficiency. The structure of the scheme will remain unchanged, involving municipal administrations and the Bulgarian Development Bank, Zafirov said during a parliamentary Question Time session.
Homeowners’ associations, established under the Condominium Management Act, will apply for the funds via a dedicated information system to streamline the process.
Zafirov said he hoped the programme would help improve living conditions for many Bulgarian households.
