General Michael Flynn hosted a dinner at the Golden Institute in honor of a delegation from Republika Srpska visiting the United States, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said on social media.
Dodik described the gesture as a “pleasant surprise,” noting that members of the U.S. Congress, including Rich McCormick, Beth Van Duyne, Byron Donalds, and Ana Paulina Luna, also attended the event.
He added that Republika Srpska is now being engaged with as a “credible partner,” rather than simply being discussed.
The delegation, which included Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ana Trišić Babić, acting president of Republika Srpska, participated in the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on Thursday.
The event, traditionally held on the first Thursday of February and organized jointly by the U.S. Congress and the White House since 1953, is a political-diplomatic gathering with a religious tone, bringing together politicians, religious leaders, business figures, and international guests.
This year’s breakfast hosted more than 3,000 attendees from over 100 countries. The Republika Srpska delegation also held meetings with senior members of the Donald Trump administration.
