A bilateral agreement between Turkey and Qatar to strengthen cooperation in global humanitarian efforts came into force on Monday following its publication in Turkey’s Official Gazette after ratification by President Tayyip Erdogan.
The “Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Humanitarian Assistance,” signed in Ankara on Nov. 14, 2024, sets out a framework for coordinated aid delivery to third countries in crisis.
Under the pact, the two governments will collaborate on financial and technical support, the deployment of humanitarian personnel, the establishment of field hospitals, and the reconstruction of key infrastructure. The agreement also includes joint efforts in post-crisis recovery operations.
