Supporters of Serbia’s ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) gathered on Saturday for a large rally at the Belgrade Arena ahead of local elections scheduled for March 29 in ten municipalities across the country.
President Aleksandar Vučić and other party leaders, including First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Siniša Mali, urged citizens to attend the event, emphasizing unity and participation. The rally, titled “Serbia – Our Family,” began at 4 p.m. local time, with gates opening at 2 p.m.
Vučić is expected to address the candidates running for municipal councils in the ten municipalities, delivering what media reports described as an important message for party nominees. Party officials also showcased the strategy and programs of SNS ahead of the elections.
In Novi Sad, SNS supporters were reported to have organized buses to transport attendees to Belgrade, as the elections are not being held in the capital but in selected cities and municipalities.
Mali encouraged participation on social media, saying: “Together we are stronger. See you today at 16:00 in Belgrade Arena! Serbia – our family!”
The rally is seen as a key mobilization effort for the SNS ahead of local polls, highlighting the party’s organizational strength and its focus on candidate presentation and strategic messaging.
