Santorini is fully safe and ready to welcome visitors ahead of the upcoming tourist season, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said on Sunday.
Speaking to CNN, Kefalogianni said authorities had prioritized public safety following an “earthquake swarm” that struck the volcanic island and popular tourist destination in early February. Scientists have now given the “all-clear,” she added.
“Santorini is open and operating completely as normal. Visitors should feel 100% confident in booking for the season,” Kefalogianni said.
“I was actually in Santorini earlier this week, and I can report that the island is as beautiful as ever,” she added.
