Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani on Friday rejected Serbia’s claim that a newly signed defense agreement between Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia poses a threat, calling it “propaganda.”
“Serbia is doing what it has always done — lying,” Osmani said, responding to Belgrade’s assertion that the pact violated a 1996 agreement. She accused Serbia of being the “only source of instability in the region,” KosovaPress reported.
Osmani made the remarks after attending an event organized by Kosovo’s Central Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in collaboration with the WE for Women Entrepreneurs initiative. She added that historically, “aggressive states like Serbia and Russia always try to portray themselves as victims.”
The trilateral joint declaration, signed on March 18, aims to strengthen defense cooperation among Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia by enhancing military capabilities, boosting cooperation in the defense industry, and improving interoperability through education, training, and joint exercises.
Serbia has condemned the pact, alleging it undermines regional stability.
