Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani expressed support for U.S. actions against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, describing them as a stand against “narco-terrorism and authoritarian rule.”
In a post on X, Osmani wrote that Kosovo stands firmly with the United States and President Donald Trump, commending Trump for “protecting America and the rest of the world from cartels and organized crime.” She emphasized that “the Venezuelan people deserve freedom, democracy, and a future governed by law, not fear.”
Kosovo, which declared independence from Serbia in 2008 after years of conflict and international intervention, said it understands the impact of “American resolve” in confronting regimes perceived as authoritarian. Osmani called for the transatlantic community to unite behind U.S. leadership and shared democratic values, stating that “our collective freedom depends on it.”
The remarks come amid reports that Trump ordered strikes and allegedly captured Maduro and his wife following months of escalating tension between Washington and Caracas over alleged drug trafficking and regional security concerns. U.S. officials have not independently confirmed the capture.
