Foreign cruise activity along Croatia’s Adriatic coast rose 5% in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, although the number of passengers edged down 0.2% to 207,500, official data showed on Monday.
According to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, a total of 151 cruises by foreign vessels were recorded between January and May, with 45 different ships docking in Croatian ports — a 12.5% increase from a year earlier. The ships spent a combined 356 days in the country, up 7.6%.
Cruise ships arrived under the flags of 11 countries, led by Malta with 42 voyages, followed by Panama, the Bahamas, Norway, Italy and Bermuda.
In May alone, there were 6.4% more foreign cruise trips than in the same month of 2024, carrying 132,000 passengers, a 6% increase year-on-year.
Most cruise arrivals were registered in the southern Dubrovnik-Neretva County, followed by Split-Dalmatia County.
