SKOPJE, March 27  – North Macedonia on Wednesday hosted a high-level working meeting in Skopje to mark five years since joining the NATO alliance. Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, the event gathered ambassadors of NATO member states and partner countries to discuss regional stability and collective security amid a shifting geopolitical landscape.

Officials used the occasion to express gratitude for the solidarity shown by NATO allies following the recent tragic accident in Kočani, calling it a clear demonstration of alliance unity and shared values.

Discussions focused on strengthening regional cooperation, adapting to current global challenges, and reaffirming the country’s role as a reliable and committed NATO ally.

North Macedonia became NATO’s 30th member in March 2020, after a prolonged accession process that included resolving a long-standing name dispute with Greece.
