Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has reached an agreement on the distribution of all sectional election commissions (SECs) abroad ahead of parliamentary elections, a senior official said on Thursday.
Rositsa Mateva, deputy chair and spokesperson of the CEC, said consultations on the composition of overseas commissions concluded at 4:00 a.m., with political parties agreeing on the allocation of all SECs outside the country.
“The next step is to receive nominations for the named members of the commissions. The deadline for their formal appointment by the CEC is April 6,” Mateva told a briefing.
Authorities have also begun providing the source code for machine voting at the Ministry of Electronic Governance, as part of preparations for the vote.
April 4 is the deadline for voters residing at a different address from their registered one to apply to vote in their current municipality, Mateva said. The same deadline applies to applications for mobile ballot boxes for voters with limited mobility.
Sunday marks the final day for members of sectional election commissions to submit applications to vote, either electronically or through municipal administrations.
Mateva also demonstrated the procedure for completing voting protocols during the briefing.
