Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić voiced concern and disappointment on social media platform X regarding preparations for a gathering outside the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (PMF) at the University of Belgrade.

Brnabić shared a video showing men in uniforms and berets, allegedly led by Hasan Omerović, known as Tarzan, a former non-commissioned officer who left military service in 1993.

In her post, Brnabić sarcastically questioned the non-violent nature of the gathering, suggesting that the activities observed did not reflect peace, understanding, or tolerance. She described PMF as a “hub of knowledge, science, research, and critical thinking,” highlighting the stark contrast with the current situation.

“I have no words for how saddened I am by what has become of our university,” Brnabić wrote, expressing dismay at the state of the institution.

She concluded her post with a sarcastic nod to university leadership: “Bravo, Rector. Bravo, Deans.”
