Bosnia’s Serb Republic approved a reshuffled government on Monday, keeping Prime Minister Savo Minić in office while appointing five new ministers, with the cabinet set to serve until Bosnia and Herzegovina’s general elections in October.
Minić and members of the new government were sworn in at a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, formally concluding the cabinet’s reconstruction.
The ceremony was attended by Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite presidency, and Milorad Dodik, leader of the ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD).
Lawmakers backed the new government with 48 votes in favour. Opposition parties, including the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), boycotted both the vote and the swearing-in ceremony.
Five new ministers joined the cabinet. Draga Mastilović was appointed minister for scientific and technological development and higher education, replacing Siniša Karan. Radenko Bubić, a businessman from Kotor Varoš, became minister of economy and entrepreneurship, succeeding Vojin Mitrović.
Neđad Ned Puhovac was named minister of trade and tourism, replacing Denis Šulić, while Radan Ostojić took over as minister of labour and veterans’ affairs from Danijel Egić. Irena Ignjatović was appointed minister for family, youth and sport, replacing Selma Čabrić.
Several key ministers retained their posts, including Finance Minister Zora Vidović, Interior Minister Željko Budimir, Transport and Communications Minister Zoran Stevanović, and Energy and Mining Minister Petar Đokić.
Ministers for health, European integration, education, spatial planning, agriculture, justice, and local government also remained unchanged.
Minić said the reshuffle ensured continuity while strengthening the government’s capacity to deliver planned infrastructure projects this year.
Republika Srpska is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s two autonomous entities, alongside the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
