Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, issued Independence Day greetings on Saturday, emphasizing the enduring value of freedom and sovereignty for the country’s future.
In a statement marking March 1, the anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s independence, Nikšić recalled the historical vote that affirmed the nation’s statehood and continuity. “The citizens’ commitment to freedom and independence remains a lasting pledge and a testament to the centuries-old aspiration of Bosnians and Herzegovinians for a sovereign state for all its peoples,” he said.
Nikšić highlighted that freedom was not simply a choice but a right defended through significant sacrifice. He called on citizens to safeguard peace and stability, protect constitutional order and territorial integrity, strengthen state institutions, and foster trust among communities.
“Guided by the legacy of our renewed independence, we must continue to build Bosnia and Herzegovina as a secure, democratic, and prosperous state – a home of equal opportunities and unity in diversity,” Nikšić added.
