Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a Reform Agenda aimed at accelerating economic growth and EU integration, but many citizens remain unclear about what it entails or how it will affect their daily lives, officials said.

The European Union Delegation in Bosnia has launched an outreach campaign to explain the reforms in simple terms, highlighting the planned measures and their potential benefits.

The Reform Agenda is structured around four main policy areas, each containing prioritized reforms supported by the EU under the Growth Plan. The plan is designed to speed up socio-economic development, align Bosnian laws with EU standards, and provide earlier access to some integration benefits, including closer economic ties and regulatory harmonization.

Within each policy area, reforms are divided into measures, components, and concrete steps, which serve as benchmarks for monitoring progress. EU funds are released only when these steps are completed, linking financial support directly to tangible results.

The four key areas are:

  • Green and digital transition: modernization of energy and digital systems.

  • Private sector development: creating a stable, predictable environment for business, investment, and innovation.

  • Human capital: investing in education, skills, and social security.

  • Foundations: building efficient, transparent institutions that serve citizens’ interests.

Officials said information about the agenda is now available to the public on the platform plankojinaspokrece.ba, where citizens can read about the reforms in their native language and track what politicians need to do to improve living standards and foster a more prosperous society.

The EU-backed agenda underscores the link between reform implementation and financial support, aiming to ensure that Bosnians experience tangible benefits from governance and economic changes.
