Albania’s exports rose by 2.3% year-on-year in the January–April period of 2025, reaching a total value of 133 billion lek ($1.38 billion), the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation said on Thursday.
Economy Minister Blendi Gonxhja said that 67.4% of Albania’s exports were directed to European Union countries, underlining the EU’s strategic importance for the country’s economy.
According to official data, the largest growth was recorded in exports of mineral products, fuels and electricity, which rose by 8.9%. Exports of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 0.6%, while machinery, equipment and spare parts were up 0.5%.
Among individual markets, Kosovo registered the highest growth in Albanian exports, up 81% compared to the same period last year. Exports to Greece rose 9.3%, while shipments to Germany climbed 6.6%.
“These figures confirm the strengthening of Albania’s trade relations both within the region and with EU member states,” Gonxhja said.
